Quicken Loans is spinning out another business. dPOP! is based in the Chrysler House and specializes in designing work spaces and facilities management.
"We allow businesses to focus on their clients while we take care of their space," says Melissa Price, CEO of
dPOP! and a former longtime director of facilities for Quicken Loans.
The "POP" dPOP! stands for is "People, Office, Places." The company's ethos focuses on helping make office spaces more creative and collaborative. It has designed a number of the office spaces for Quicken Loans and its family of companies, including offices in the Compuware Building, Chase Tower and M@dison building. The company employs five people who work in the basement of the Chrysler House, formerly the Dime Building, in downtown Detroit. The basement has a large bank vault that dPOP! has repurposed to help exemplify its own creative character.
"It's a space we are very passionate about," Price says. "It really speaks to who we are. It has the personality and the history."
