Plante Moran is in the process of opening a new office in the Compuware Building, a move that will bring another 75 employees to downtown Detroit.
The Southfield-based firm specializes in certified public accounting and business consulting. It has offices in a handful of Michigan cities, including Flint, Auburn Hills and Ann Arbor. The new Detroit office will be located in 15,000 square feet of the Compuware Building's third floor. The 75 employees will be a combination of existing staff moving downtown from other offices and new hires.
"It's a great location," says Gordon Krater, managing partner of
Plante Moran, singing the praises of the building's restaurants and day-care center. "The amenities in that building are incredible. Our people are definitely excited about it."
The opening of the downtown Detroit office is expected to take place this fall and be completed by the end of the year. Krater says the reasoning behind the move is that the company's continued growth has maxed out its space in all of its offices and downtown Detroit's palpable momentum of attracting new business. He points out that the continued investment firms like Quicken Loans and a number of other tech firms are solid reasons for optimism.
"It just seems like it's the right time to be in Detroit," Krater says.
